Spring Break

Well, I got paid to take a week in March off of work. Yes, it's called spring break and every school has one, but still. It's nice to get a full week off from work while receiving funds to pay for the time away. I spent my hard (ish) earned money on a plane ticket and a trip to New England. We started in Boston, rented a car, and drove up to the most adorable sea-side town, Portsmouth, NH. I know you're probably thinking, "New Hampshire, really? Out of all of the New England states, you chose the unpredictable, slightly erratic, gun-toting New Hampshire??" My short answer is, "Uh. Yeah." My long answer is, "Uh. Hell yeah." The coast of NH is frickin' adorable. It's not just that there's an ocean; there are inlets and bays and bridges and islands and other watery things. Portsmouth itself is like a Northampton/Santa Cruz/other laid back town but without a college and with kayaks. Unbeatable.

Like I said, we started in Portsmouth, but throughout our time, we made our way down to Rye and Hampton, both towns on the coast, and then up to Maine. Kittery, Maine is 5 minutes north of Portsmouth. We drove through Kittery (um, hello future), and then up to York and even a bit farther. If you want to be the chillest person on earth, maybe walk a dog on a beach, drink Arnold Palmers on a porch, and sail to the nearest town, Maine is where it's at. I wish I had more pictures to show you how relaxed the area is, even at the end of winter, but you'll just have to take my word for it.
