Sunday we got a party car and drove up to Sonoma. When I say party car, I mean we rented a Mazda 5 through City Car Share. The car is a lot like a van in the sense that it fits 6 people, and in my mind 6 people in one car equals a party car. I can tell you're already jealous.
My beautiful cousin, Joanne, had recommended Homewood Winery and she could not have been more right. When we arrived, they sat us at an outdoor picnic table and brought the tasting to us. For $5 each, we tried at least six different wines while enjoying the view.
About an hour later, we drove to a sandwich shop and grabbed some linner (lunch/dinner. obvs.) We then brought our linner to the Jacuzzi Family winery and had a little picnic there before tasting their wine. Their tasting was...drum roll please... FREE! We stayed until closing and then took that party car back home.
On Monday, I enjoyed a nice day off honoring Veterans' Day. Ate a burrito, used a gift card at an Italian market and finally found some cavatelli in this town.
Alejandro also enjoyed a day off:
Notice the gourmet breakfast and several chapters of reading all before your 9-5 lunch break.
Cat and Adrian also received some paid time off. Here they are taking in the sights in Rockridge, fake house hunting in Tahoe, and enjoying a delicious burrito in Emeryville. Does it get much better?
